Printers from Across the Nation Sharpen their Competitive Edge at the OTView Print 09 Booth
Timonium, MD – September 28, 2009 – OTview, a leading provider of production management software, hosted printers from across the nation this week at Chicago’s Graph Expo. The OTview message was clear and enticing. Printers today can gain the competitive edge without adding more staff or expanding their production equipment. When you implement OTPrint, every employee is empowered with an integrated software solution that runs on every desktop and is available anywhere, anytime via an internet connection. Faster quotes, accurate estimates, real-time job status to communicate to customers, production selection driven by profit motives, efficient cost tracking, and post mortem analysis, add up to the ultimate leverage.
Jon Graham, General Manager of Precision Graphics, stated “every year we search for the magic that’s going to stimulate our next growth step. OTPrint allows us to simply sharpen our business to create our own magic. With this tool, every decision leverages a knowledge base from past jobs and previous steps on the current job. This means every employee works faster and smarter.”
This is OTview’s Sixth year at Print according to Walt Marchant, founder and President. He states, “each year we expand our booth, add more demo stations, and rollup our sleeves with even more printers. The distinction this year is that printers from across the country are truly motivated to improve their profits versus only surviving through top line growth. The old adage faster, cheaper, better is alive and well going into 2010. OTPrint is an affordable enabler to get On Track.”

About OTview
OTview develops and markets a full-featured print management software product, called OTPrint. "OT" stands for OnTrack. The company's mission is to empower printing companies with a unique competitive edge that is fostered by an "OnTrack View" of every print job as it runs through the plant. In the late 1990's, a commercial printing industry leader, Walt Marchant, gave birth to this vision.
His frustration with commercially available software provided the impetus for his creation of a new approach, OTPrint. From the "get-go" OTPrint was developed inside of a printing operation. Every employee, whether it was the owner, the estimator, or the press operator, was continuously solicited for suggestions on how to make the software "easy to use and intelligent". OTview Users Drive new OTPrint Version 9 Enhancements
Timonium, MD – July 23, 2007 – OTview, a leading provider of production management software, announced OTPrint Version 9 will be available in August and on display at the upcoming Graph Expo 07. The focus of Version 9 development was driven by direct input from OTview’s user base. The theme of the new version is “streamlining”, resulting in unsurpassed user efficiencies. The OTPrint GUI (graphical user interface) was enhanced, screen-by-screen to optimize the workflow of the software without sacrificing the power or functionality.
The past several years, various printing industry trends materialized that forced process changes in most shops. These changes prompted OTview to enhance OTPrint with hundreds of new features in Version’s 7 and 8. “As these features were absorbed into our customer’s daily routine, the side effect was the evolution of many users into power users, states Jeff Krichton, OTview’s Senior Product Usability professional. Yet, not every user is ready or has the need to be a power user. Version 9 streamlines the GUI and provides both casual and power users an easy-to-use workflow.”
OTPrint Version 9 is available concurrent with Version 9 of FileMaker. Walt Marchant, OTview’s President and Founder comments, “every new release of FileMaker exposes usability techniques for OTview to leverage. Our mission is to combine FileMaker’s technology advancements with the growing OTPrint user base suggestion stream, resulting in faster quotes, more accurate estimates, constant real-time job status to communicate to customers, production selection driven by profit motives, efficient cost tracking, and post mortem analysis. Those are the ingredients of an OnTrack business.”

OTview Accelerates Plant Automation as Printers Embrace Software Leasing Alternatives
FOR NATIONAL DISTRIBUTION • March 2007 – OTview, a leading provider of production management software, is experiencing an acceleration in automation commitments due to the overwhelming acceptance of affordable software leasing alternatives. Leasing allows printers to spread their payments over several years for added flexibility in cash planning while enjoying the immediate benefit of their investment in total automation.
Historically, leasing companies have favored hard assets over software licenses. With the consistent trend in low interest rates and price reductions on various hardware lines, software is becoming more attractive. The risk to leasing companies is even less when the software license represents a solution that completely automates an operation. Less risk equates to better rates for printers. “An example is OTPrint, provided by OTview,” states Mr. Steve Fix, Vice President of Sales of LeaseSource Incorporated. “As I researched OTview’s customers, the consistent message was OTPrint had dramatically improved profitability.”
OTview entered 2007 with a significant backlog of prospects from the 2006 Graph Expo. Enthusiasm for a total solution was prevalent. Yet many capital budgets were forcing printers to limit their automation investment. And piece-meal automation offered limited benefits and created islands in a plant. “Typically,” explains OTview President and Founder Walt Marchant, “when we demonstrate OTPrint, the customer is overcome with how empowering it is to experience the automation of the complete job life cycle from estimating, through pre-production and production, to shipping and final profit analysis. We can now offer our customers a financial alternative that gives them what they need now versus continuing to handicap themselves against their competition.”

OTPrint Version 8.0 Applauded by Wide Variety of Printers at Graph Expo
Timonium, MD – October 18, 2006 – OTview’s third consecutive participation at Chicago’s Graph Expo set the stage to introduce OTPrint 8.0 to thousands of printing professionals and the buzz around the booth had one consistent theme - this is exactly what printers are looking for in today’s market. Demonstrations were in high demand as OTview showed a complete production management solution that highlighted strengths such as their Filemaker platform that encourages customization versus penalizing printers for their unique requirements. Visitor enthusiasm for a total solution peaked when OTPrint was shown to automate the complete life cycle of a job from estimating, through pre-production and production, to shipping, and final profit analysis.
Walt Marchant, founder and President of OTview summarized the event, “we spent quality time with a wide variety of printers. Some stated they had previously resisted full automation but believe that OTPrint is easy to use and can immediately see the benefits of a plant-wide solution. Others had invested thousands of dollars developing their own software and couldn’t believe that OTview can give them an off-the-shelf solution that can also be customized when the need arises. Then there were a lot of printers that have outdated software that simply doesn’t solve the challenges that OTPrint addresses. It is always encouraging as a company founder to listen to people’s requirements and know that you have anticipated them and actually have that built into the solution.”
As everyone knows, the printing industry is large in numbers but one of the tightest people networks in the country. Three years ago, OTview expanded marketing efforts from the East coast throughout the United States. As customers were added and existing customers expanded operations, new requirements for OTPrint have continued to drive OTview’s engineering plans. “It was great to see so many of those customers, from all over the country, at Graph Expo. We thank all of them for sharing their OTPrint success stories with visitors to our booth. Their real-world experiences really helped a lot of printers in search of a solution,” commented Lee Muse, an attending OTview board member. “Also, if a visitor missed our booth, it is simple to setup a web based demonstration and follow-up with some of our customers."
