OTPrint Software

OTPrint Overview

OTPrint is an all-inclusive software product that empowers every employee with the real-time vision to consistently produce OnTrack print jobs. Our definition of OnTrack is "OnTime", plus "OnQuantity", plus "OnQuality". Unlike traditional software companies that dedicate their web-site and printed marketing collateral to software feature descriptions, our objective is to describe how OTPrint has improved each step within the "life cycle" of an OnTrack job. Visit the section of this website, Job Life Cycle for all the details. This is critical information in assessing the value that the software represents to your company. Of course, at your convenience, an OTview representative will be delighted to demonstrate the endless user-friendly features that have made this software so easy to implement and incorporate into the daily operation of progressive printing companies throughout the United States.

OTData is your Information Blueprint

OTPrint is an all-inclusive software product that empowers every employee with the real-time vision to consistently produce OnTrack print jobs. At the core of OTPrint is a powerful integrated database called OTData. It is easy to visualize OTData as your information blueprint. It is the OTview software that tells all the functional modules, like OTEstimating and OTShop, where each job's information is stored and provides the instructions on how to access it. OTData is very intelligent. When the system is installed, it records information about your plant, your machinery, your employees, and much more. This is where security information is maintained so you can control exactly "what" information is available to "which user". One of the powerful aspects of the software is that it quickly adapts to your company. For example, OTData begins with an extensive library of industry accepted reports and display screens. Yet, during installation and over time, most customers tune the "look and feel" to match their business culture.

OTData Power: OTData is composed of an array of related databases with intelligence that links the vital information. These databases, "FileMaker relational databases", share vast amounts of information in an effortless manner, which is transparent to the users. Just as it is unimportant to understand the details of blueprint of your home, most users never explore the intricacies of OTData. Yet, it is helpful to grasp the power that the software enables. Two key aspects of running an OnTrack business are the ability to quickly identify a particular job and then investigate the details of that job. Below is how it works in an OTview customer site.

Find Info: Double click on the "Open OnTrack" icon on your desktop. Enter your password when prompted. You will see the "Work Order" view of active work. (Note: At the top of the screen the Button "Work Order" is displayed in dark gray with the type reversed.)  You will automatically view the oldest or first job in the database. All jobs and their associated parts are found when OnTrack is opened. To the left of the screen, a Rolodex icon and the number of active records are displayed. This number represents the number of job parts that are in OTData. Immediately, you see the flexibility and power of the database. A job may be composed of one or more parts (i.e., a 16-page self-cover brochure is typically a 1-part job, unless it requires more than one paper type, an 8-page plus cover is typically a 2- part job). OTData provides a unique Part Number to every part and a unique Job Number to every Job.

Investigate Info: At the top of the Work Order screen is a control panel with a series of buttons. These buttons navigate the user to different views of their work.

Estimate Button: Takes user to an Estimate view of the current found job to display and investigate.

Work Order Button: Takes user to a Work Order view for further investigation.

Cut Ticket Button: Takes user to the Cutting Ticket view of the current found job. This cutting ticket can be printed and used for receiving stack, cutting instructions, and as a job label.

Prod Board Button: Takes user to a Production Board Ticket view of the current found job. Production Board Tickets can be printed from this view.

Prep List Button: Finds all jobs that need to be worked on in the Prepress department and navigates to a printable list view of the jobs.

Proofs Out Button: Finds all jobs that are on Proof Out status and navigates to a printable list view of the jobs.

Press List Button: Finds all jobs that are assigned to the press schedule, sorts them by press and press order, and navigates to a printable list view of the jobs.

Ship List Button: Finds all jobs that need to be worked on in the Bindery department, sorts them by due dates and production requirements, and navigates to a printable list view of the jobs.

Prepress, Press, Bindery & Shipping Buttons: (Blue Buttons) Investigates the shop floor data collection layout for each of these departments.

Find Button: Allows user to initiate a new find for any job or group of jobs.

Print Button: This button prints a printable layout of whatever view the user is in. For example, in the Work Order view the Print Button prints a job ticket.
